Marching into Media Mastery: A Journey of Teamwork and Dedication

The mind behind Project X Acedemy, the lifestyle business coaching {dream world} where we dare to do things differently. Today, I want to share a story about how sometimes even the best-laid plans can falter and what we can learn from those little hiccups in life. It's a bit like that British saying, "The cobbler's children have no shoes," but I'm talking media in this case. Let's dive right in, shall we?

The Eye-Opening Morning

There we were, three grown men past the half-century mark, sitting in a room with our heads slightly hung. We were not teenagers getting told off for forgetting homework. No, we were supposed to be the masterminds behind

BananaWorks

, our media company, known for helping others sort out their online presence. But this time, we had our arses handed to us—hard—because, quite ironically, we hadn't kept our own media in check.

My wife Jayne and Steve's "marketing mistress" was the orchestrators of our wake-up call. She reminded us that even with the best tools and strategies, nothing gets done unless you

do the work

. So, there we were, staring at the fact: we've been like plumbers with leaky taps and electricians with unfinished sockets. Embarrassing, right?

The Realisation: Our Own Media Mess

Ever found yourself preaching something and then realising you hadn't followed your own advice? Yes, we're 'guilty as charged.' My friend and co-owner, Geoff Pennington, aka BananaWorks, and I know the ins and outs of media affairs. Yet, ironically, we neglected our media presence while ensuring our clients’ media shone bright. It was a much-needed reality check.

This monumental lesson taught us something valuable—the world of business waits for no one. You can't just have the fancy bells and whistles—the dangling carrots—and expect everything will fall into place. A good business strategy needs enthusiastic execution.

The Solution: Mad March Media

Hence, the birth of our new initiative:

Mad March Media

. We created this plan to whip ourselves into shape and cement our media presence, ensuring that we exemplify the values we teach at Project X.

Think of March as the month your goals get their groove back. For us, involving our whole team and keeping these commitments became a priority.

Here is what our "Mad March Media" entails:

Creating a consistent, compelling online presence that speaks the same language as our potential clients. We will be deploying our strategies firsthand to showcase their effectiveness. Think of practical applications rather than just theory. We ensure that we match the energy and creativity we promise in our coaching sessions across our brand footprint.

Connecting Our Clients with Their Vision

At Project X, our mantra touches on Fun, Adventure, and Harmony. That's the real essence—the cornerstone of our teachings. Communicating with our customers doesn't stop at providing the tools; it continues with ensuring everyone can see it, feel it, and then execute it.

On the Mornington Peninsula, many service-based businesses reach out to us because they want something different. They don’t come to us because we do things the old way. No, they come to us because we promise a transformation, a journey rather like the Mad March. Supporting our clients means equipping them with experiences that turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Lessons Learned: The Fast Lane Needs Steady Action

So, what's the takeaway from my slightly embarrassing yet enlightening episode? It's simple: Action = Results. Just chasing endless plans doesn’t cut it. You must be disciplined—putting your shoulder to the wheel each day. Encourage your team to be unique while staying accountable.

Remember, like us, you may find yourselves sidetracked or captured by moments of complacency. Sometimes, we need a good shake-up from someone who knows their stuff—a "marketing mistress," if you will—or even your own conscience if you've been banking on lax practices.

The "Mad March" philosophy isn’t just a seasonal operation. It’s a reminder that taking action consistently and courageously is essential not just for survival, but for thriving in the busyness of life.

If you're reading this and thinking, "This speaks to me," it's possibly time to assess your priorities. Our journey is as much about fixing our own flaws as it is about helping others mature beyond the pain points on Hustle and Struggle Street.

Join us and transition onto Lifestyle Street, where work becomes an opportunity, not an endurance race. Let's take on March, conquer one strategy at a time, and live lives that are vibrant and full of purpose.
